Learning

          Our center works hard to maintain the standards that coincide with the increasing demands for children entering school.  Using the Creative Curriculum, in conjunction with the State of Michigan Early Childhood Standards of Quality for Prekindergarten, we provide the building blocks that lead to understanding and learning.  Our methods are exemplified in the activities we do with the children. Our center is filled with toys, games, musical instruments, blocks, books and art materials that encourage creativity and social interaction with other children. We encourage children to learn by doing things themselves, allowing their interests and needs to guide our instruction as we provide them with an endless amount of support, enthusiasm and tools to explore with.
Our activities are in the fields of:

• emergent literacy- alphabet recognition, phonological awareness, phoneme awareness, phonics
• art
• science
• movement
• music
• small and large muscle development
• math and number basics  

          Licensed as a preschool by the Michigan State Department of Education, we provide developmentally appropriate activities that address the education of the whole child--the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical needs that lead to the total educational development of our preschoolers.  Parents and families contribute to their child's preschool education by participating in the overall operation and helping make decisions about their child's preschool experience. Our families' involvement adds to every child's positive attitude and belief that school is important as well as fun.
